Catalan Theatre in Barcelona Come & See is a Catalan theatre biennial show whose main goal is to make Catalan theatre production known all over the world. The event will take place on 2nd, 3rd and 4th July 2008 at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya. This will be the second edition of the project Catalan Theatre in Barcelona Come & See. It is an initiative by CIATRE, Association of Professional Theatre of Catalonia, which will be open, from the second edition and on, to all Catalan theatre and theatre-related companies. By this, we try to offer all visitors with a wider vision of our country’s theatrical selection. For three days, live shows in showcase format will be performed in Barcelona, by the best Catalan theatre companies. In addition to the scenic arts show, there will also be conferences, workshops, project presentations and face to face meetings held. The first edition of Come & See was held on 12th and 13th July 2006 in the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya. CIATRE brought to Barcelona more than 100 international programmers who had the opportunity to watch showcases and new creations by the 27 member companies of CIATRE. This year, we go further: a wider selection of shows, more conferences, more face to face meetings...and, we hope, more programmers attending the event. Just Come & See! The Teatre Nacional of Catalunya (TNC) is placed near Plaza de las Glorias (Glorias Square) and the Auditorium, and is a construction by the prestigious architect Ricardo Bofill. It was the key to restore a district that needed an important urban planning transformation, and it has brought the city an exceptional cultural equipment. The TNC has three auditoriums: the Sala Gran (Big Auditorium) can hold up to more than 850 people, while the Sala Petita (Small Auditorium) up to 400 and both of them are located in the main building. The Sala Tallers (Workshops Auditorium) is placed in a second building, is annexed to the main one, and has a capacity of approximately 300 people.
