After a long professional trayectory (Theatre, Television, Cinema, Pedagogy, etc.), the actors Xavier Martí and Christian Atanasiu constituted in 1989 the COMPANYÍA MARTI-ATANASIU.

Our spectacles, created on the base of improvisation, evolve under two essential parameters, the grimace and the humour. We are developing a particular and realistic gesticulation, we avoid the histrionism and create a humour with “human dimension”.

We seek for thematics with a social background and charged with emotions, refusing to work only in the search of the gag and the situation in its first lecture, definitely, not to realize a humour without contents.

Our spectacles BOXTROT and INUIT have run over half Europe (Spain, Germany, Holland, France, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, England, Czechia, ...), performing more than 420 representations at National and International Festivals with a great success by the public and criticizers. Obtaining with INUIT the PRIZE TO THE INNOVATIVE SPECTACLE AT THE INTERNATIONAL HUMOUR FESTIVAL 1998 OF MOERS (Germany) and the II PRIZE OF THE HUMOUR FESTIVAL 1999 OF SCHWERTE (Germany). In general terms, INUIT has also been basically vouched for its inventive faculty, originality and type of humour.

The spectacle conceived in sketches and without words, presents daily situations of quotidian human beings carried to the limit; the black humour, the parody and the tragedy are intermixed to play with the human feelings, being discovered the sane and insane “debilities” which we carry inherent to us, always observed through the acut prism of the comicalness.

Going out from this feeble line where a tragical situation turns into comical and vice versa, we play with the solitude, violence, intolerance, meanness, passion, timidness, friendship and other “insignificances”, definitely with the cynicism and irony of the proper life.
