Magatzem d’Ars premieres its new production, Terra baixa, in January at the Sala Ars Teatre in Barcelona. In Terra baixa, Manelic is a shepherd who lives in the mountains, far from the world in the valley. He is persuaded to come down and marry Marta, with whom he falls in love without having seen her. But, once married, he discovers that she does not love him and that the peasants make fun of him. Everyone knows that the gentleman, Sebastià, has orchestrated this marriage to silence the rumours about his relationship with Marta and thus be able to marry an heiress from a good family who will pay off his debts.
