From June 28 to July 26, the company Magatzem d’Ars will premiere its new theatrical production, Art, a play by French author Yasmina Reza that puts the limits of friendship to the test through contemporary art. The plot revolves around three lifelong friends whose relationship is shaken when one of them buys a completely white painting for an astronomical sum. What seems like a trivial anecdote quickly becomes the catalyst for a series of intense, hilarious, and thought-provoking arguments that challenge their beliefs, their emotions, and the very meaning of the word “friendship. Art is a sharp, ironic, and intelligent comedy that elegantly dissects the subjectivity of artistic perception and the fragility of human bonds.
