March arrives full of stage performances, humor and reimagined great classics with an intense tour that will travel through Catalonia and Aragon with several shows by the Cascai Teatre company aimed at both school audiences and the general public. From Shakespeare to Cervantes, passing through Julius Caesar, the programme combines pedagogy, playfulness and contemporary reinterpretation of theatrical myths.
On March 2 and 3, Un Tal Shakespeare will take the stage at the Teatre Romea in Barcelona. During the mornings of both days, there will be school performances, while on March 2 at 8:00 p.m. there will be a show open to the general public. The performance offers a fresh and playful look at the world of William Shakespeare, bringing his characters and conflicts closer to today’s audience with humour and complicity. The tour will continue on March 14 at the Casa de la Cultura in La Muela (Zaragoza), in a performance with time yet to be confirmed, and on March 20 at the Espai Ridaura in Santa Cristina d’Aro (Girona), as part of the school programme.
The classic by Miguel de Cervantes will also be a highlight of the month. On March 4, Un Tal Quixot will be performed in Vilafranca del Penedès (Barcelona) at 11:00 a.m. as part of the school programme. On March 18 it will arrive in Sant Feliu de Guíxols (Girona) for a school performance, and on March 19 it will stop in Girona, also within the educational programme. On March 24 and 25, the show will return to the Teatre Romea in Barcelona for school performances, strengthening the link between theatre and education. Finally, on March 27 at 8:00 p.m., Un Tal Quixot can be seen at the Museu de Tortosa (Tarragona) in an open performance that promises to bring the adventures of the knight of La Mancha closer to all audiences.
On March 11 and 12, the show Juguem? will arrive at the Girona Auditorium as part of the school programme. It is a proposal that places play at the centre of the theatrical experience, inviting children and young people to reflect, participate and discover new forms of stage communication. March 15 will be the turn of L’Orquestra Impossible, which will be performed at La Fàbrica in Masquefa (Barcelona) in a performance with time yet to be confirmed. Music, humour and unexpected situations are combined in a proposal that plays with musical language from a theatrical perspective. The Roman world will take centre stage with Un Tal Cèsar, inspired by the figure of Julius Caesar. On March 21 at 7:00 p.m. it can be seen at Espai Ridaura Santa Cristina d’Aro (Girona). Subsequently, on March 22 and 23, the show will have a double performance at the Casal del Poble in Bordils (Girona) at 6:00 p.m.: on the 22nd in an open performance for the public and on the 23rd as part of the school programme.
