The iconic Catalan company La Fura dels Baus will return to Costa Rica as one of the main performances of the International Festival of the Arts (FIA) 2026, which will take place during the last week of March, with its main venue at the La Sabana Metropolitan Park, in the city of San José, the capital of the Republic of Costa Rica. The artistic collective will present Reconec, a large-scale stage production that combines theatre, music, technology and citizen participation, with more than 70 local artists involved, which can be seen at the festival’s closing ceremony on March 29 at 6:00 p.m.
The company, internationally recognized for its immersive and large-scale productions, had already performed in the Central American country during the 2000 FIA edition, leaving a strong impression on the local audience. Throughout its trajectory, La Fura dels Baus has presented its creations on the world’s main stages and has been responsible for highly prestigious international events, such as the opening ceremony of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. It has performed in numerous European cities, where it has consolidated its global prestige.
