Summer continues with two major engagements for Magrana Escena. This August, two of its co-productions will be featured in the programmes of two of Spain’s leading dance festivals. The first will take place on 12 August at 9 pm at Menorca en Dansa, where the company will present Rel i Grapa. Co-produced by Magrana Escena and Víctor & Raúl Pérez Armero, the performance creates a dialogue between traditional and contemporary dance, bringing together heritage and modernity through movement and live music.
A few days later, on 18 August at 8.30 pm, the production company will celebrate another important milestone with the premiere of Brida, choreographer Ester Guntín’s latest creation, at the Ésdansa Festival in the Centre Cultural de les Preses (Girona). Winner of the 2025 Delfí Colomé Award, the work draws inspiration from the traditional Catalan cavallets dance and the contemporary hobby horsing phenomenon to reflect on the ways bodies are controlled, establishing a compelling parallel between horse training and codified choreography.
