Emergency Exit is a scenic explosion by the company La Fura dels Baus that is not meant merely to be watched, but to be experienced. It will be presented in the Sea Star Festival in the coastal city of Umag (Croatia) on May 29. La Fura dels Baus’ proposal unfolds like a wave: striking imagery, collective action, and overflowing energy that directly engages the audience, placing them inside the very mechanism of the performance. There is no safe distance or passive gaze; everything happens up close, at the level of the body and breath. In this large-scale spectacle, the notion of an “emergency exit” becomes both metaphor and provocation. It is an invitation to cross boundaries, to question spaces of control, and to be carried away by an experience that can only be understood from within—amid noise, light, and constant movement.
