This June, clown Pepa Plana presents a double theatrical programme that will take her from Vinaròs to Sicily with two performances marked by humour, poetry, and absurdity. On June 24 at 8 p.m., as part of the Alè Vinarossenc award ceremony, the Municipal Auditorium of Vinaròs (Castellón) will host A cada pas, a poetic, wordless journey loosely inspired by the character of Winnie from Samuel Beckett’s Happy Days. In this production, the protagonist imagines what would happen if she could free herself from her mound of sand and rediscover the world through freedom.
The following day, the creator will travel to Sicily to take part in the FINC Festival in Giardini Naxos, held at the Teatro della Nike inside the Naxos-Taormina Archaeological Park. There she will present L’atzar on June 26, a piece that reflects with irony on the nature of the clown and their endless relationship with problem-solving. In this performance, the clown appears as a tireless being, constantly immersed in the search for solutions that, paradoxically, generate new obstacles. Amid this creative chaos, chance becomes an unexpected ally, opening unforeseen paths and situations that are both comic and revealing.
