Magatzem d’Ars will continue performing La casa de Bernarda Alba this year. The production, now entering its ninth season, will be performed regularly at Sala Ars Teatre in Barcelona, from September 2026 to July 2027.
The production revisits Federico García Lorca’s great classic through the company’s own free adaptation. In a 60-minute production, the direction concentrates all the dramatic power of a work marked by repression and human passions.
La casa de Bernarda Alba was the last play written by Federico García Lorca. The author was murdered shortly after completing it and never lived to see it performed. With this adaptation, Magatzem d’Ars aims to pay a respectful and humble tribute to one of the essential figures of 20th-century literature and theatre.
