Berta i Marià, written by Ever Blanchet and starring Roger Pera and Maria Clausó, arrives on the Barcelona theatre scene this June as a Versus Teatre production. Performances will take place every Thursday in June at 8:15 p.m. at Espai Random de Gràcia (Barcelona).

Berta is a 50-year-old woman who feels more alive than ever and seeks from her husband, Marià, a sexual attraction that is no longer mutual. He, meanwhile, tries to reclaim desire through youth and maintain an image of virility and vitality despite the passing of time. At the beginning of the play, it seems that the fire that once united them has faded, and each begins to follow their own path.

Through four scenes and different time jumps, the audience witnesses the evolution of this relationship over the years. Berta rediscovers pleasure, tenderness, and the freedom of not being judged for her body or rejected by her partner, while Marià struggles to preserve an identity that time inevitably transforms. Berta i Marià is a comedy about the evolution of relationships over time, about the encounters and disagreements that shape a shared life, and about an affection that, despite everything, can endure until the very end.
