From 15 to 26 July, L’esquerda en el món will be presented as a new production by Magrana Escena and the Grec Festival Barcelona, co-produced with Malvasía Produccions. Directed by Rodrigo García Olza, the production will be staged at Sala Versus Glòries (Barcelona) and brings to the stage one of the latest plays by German playwright Roland Schimmelpfennig, currently regarded as the most widely performed German-language playwright in the world.

The production will be part of the Grec Festival programme, with performances from Wednesday to Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and on Sundays at 6:00 p.m. With a fragmented, rhapsodic structure, the play combines the conventions of contemporary comedy with a sharp, critical perspective on the contradictions of today’s society. The story revolves around Tom, a satellite tycoon, and his wife, Sue, who invite an artist seeking funding for her projects to spend a weekend at their mansion.
